Palestinian students had developed a Formula 1 style racing car using the recycled Materials. Eleven Palestinian students from UNRWA's Khan Younis Training Centre (KYTC) in Gaza created the car from scratch.

The student team leader was 19 year old Osama Al Othmani. He said "the team hopes to be able to collect enough funding to travel the car to the prestigious UK Formula Student competition, one of Europe's biggest student motor-sport events."

The contest, to be held from 14-17 July, serves as a talent-nurturing and recruitment event for companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and Shell.

The team is urgently seeking funding to ship their car and travel to the UK.

With financial support from Bank of Palestine, Pal Tel Group Foundation and Al Quds (Jerusalem) Bank, the Khan Younis team have been working round the clock in preparation for the competition, according to the supervisor, Ghassan Abu Orf.

Final part that goes on car is the label ‘Made in Gaza’
