Dr Francesco Lanza combining remaining surgery of Robert Kubica's into single operation that will take place on Friday.
A lengthy operation was carried out on Kubica's severely damaged right hand following his rally crash on Sunday, but he still requires further repairs to his foot, humerus and elbow.
Although the original plan was for two separate operations to take place on Friday and Monday, Dr Lanza has indicated that the whole task could be completed tomorrow instead.
"Tomorrow he will undergo surgery on what's left to do, so the humerus, the elbow and also the foot - the astragalus - where we have to do a small synthesis for the extra fractures he suffered," Dr Lanza told IVG.it.
"As for what's been done thus far, I'd say it's going quite well, we are calm, but clearly with some reservations we can't still withdraw completely."

He warned that doing the surgery in a single session would be a significant task.
"Yes, we were thinking of doing surgery in a single session," Dr Lanza said. "We are inclined towards that. But obviously it depends on the patient's general state, because tomorrow's session is long: there is the astragalus, the humerus, the neck of the humerus, perhaps we'll need to insert some bone material, so that's already a complex operation.
"On top of that there is the elbow, but if possible we would like to do everything in a single session. No question that surgery time would be long, we'd need six or seven hours."
