Robert Kubica underwent his final operation on Wednesday at the Santa Corona hospital in Pietra Ligure, Itlay.
Following an initial operation on his right forearm, Kubica underwent a second bout of surgery on his foot, shoulder, humerus, and anterior elbow last Friday. The Pole had surgery for eight hours as the doctors treated the complex fracture to his elbow, stabilising and reconstructing the damaged fragments of the joint structure which was the Third and the last operation for Robert Kubica.
"At the end of the surgery, the doctors were pleased with the outcome, with the procedure being completed successfully," said his Renault team in a statement.
The hospital in Pietra Ligure near Genoa said in a medical bulletin Friday that Kubica's condition was "satisfactory." It said he has been "transferred as scheduled from an intensive care unit to a rehabilitation department."
Robert Kubica will also set to stay in Italy to start his rehabilitation following his accident, according to his manager Daniel Morelli. Morelli said the Pole is likely to stay at the Santa Corona hospital given how well he has been treated so far.
