Jerez Test - Day 3 - Nick Heidfeld makes an impressive comeback to F1

Day Three

Nick Heidfeld has impressed all with fastest time on his return to F1. Nick had driven for Sauber last year for 5 races after replacing Pedro De La Rosa. But was not able to lock a seat this year. He is among the few drivers that are in contention for replacing the injured Robert Kubica. Michael Schumacher who was quickest yesterday was third fastest behind Fernando Alonso.

Red flags were a common sight on day 3 also.

Fernando Alonso was the second fastest on Day 3 with his first run of the second testing. He was a tenth of a second slower than Nick. Alonso has completed the maximum laps for the day as 131.

The MGP W02 showed signs of improved consistency as staying within 1.3s of Schumacher's best lap for 13 laps before slipping by around 0.5s per lap over the next five. Also Schumi was fastest yesterday also
