Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes Unveils its 2011 season Car MP4-26 on 4th Feb, 2011 in Berlin
Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes Team has launched its new car MP4-26 in the streets of Berlin in a public session as the legacy of launching cars by Mclaren continues.
The show was hosted by Vodafone Company, Germany and is live streamed on the internet.
The team mechanics first of all screwed Pirelli tyres to the new mclaren MP4-26. The show was then joined by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. The crowd cheered the drivers arrival. The car was embraced by Lewis and Jenson. The seat and the steering was affixed by the duo. They both then placed their helmets on the driving seats.
Q&A's with Lewis and Jenson :
Lewis, how it is feels to see the car?
Lewis said, "It feels great. I have seen the car first time as fully painted in colour. Already seen the car in wind tunnel but with full colour it is for the first time."
Jenson, how is the team making the progress?
Jenson said, "Team is making good progress. We have gathered a lot of information on new tyres. Next week testing in Jerez is important as moving with this beauty for the first time."
To Jenson, Unique way of presenting the car?
Jenson said, "Ya, its unique as most of the teams launch the new cars on circuit. This way helps the fans to get this new baby all around the world. It is nice to involve people."
To Lewis, Do you think the car is Good?
Lewis said, "I have been here since 2007, but new painted car looks great. Great looking wheels as Pirelli look great. Vodafone is painted better. I think the car is painted better than other cars this year."
"For me the car is like a Girl. She is beautiful. I treat her like she is my lady."
To Lewis, What you did for preparation this winter?
Lewis said, "I trained for 5 weeks in high mountains, nice and cold. It was great training. I am in my best shape, i ever be. I only feel pain in neck after the testing session as there is lot of high G Force."
As talked about the team, he said, "As for Mclaren is always on top. We have passionate racing drivers. it is a great car."
As asked about the competition to Jenson, Jenson said, "As in my career of 12 seasons, this will be the best competitive year. There are 5 world champions on the Grid. Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica are also very good."
"There is lot to learn about the buttons also as there are more buttons to practice for adjustable rear wings, Kers systems etc."
Jenson handed the signed caps to the fans while Lewis threw them into the crowd.
