Organizers of the glamorous annual Grand Prix Ball have confirmed that the unique Force India F1 team 'art' car will be displayed at the 2011 pre-British Grand Prix extravaganza next week.

The car, which will form the centrepiece of a wider display of F1 machinery, has been specially commissioned and will be painted in a colourful livery and signed by F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, 1996 F1 world champion and outgoing BRDC president Damon Hill and Sir Stirling Moss. It will be auctioned off for charity at a later date following on from its debut appearance in the week building up to the ninth round in the 2011 F1 World Championship.

The news follows on from the announcement last month that former X-Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson will headline at the Grand Prix Ball at London's prestigious Hurlingham Club on the banks of the River Thames – one that is set to bring together the great and the good from the grand prix grid and the celebrity world.

Liverpool-born Rebecca enchanted the public and received standing ovations for her soulful timbre throughout the last season of X Factor, with Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger – McLaren-Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend – proclaiming her as 'our generation's songbird' as she sang her way to the runner-up position.

Fellow performers confirmed for the 7 July soirée will be BBC F1 pundit and former team owner Eddie Jordan and his band The Robbers. Excitingly they will be joined by a number of 'special guests' who will be flown in by helicopter from the Silverstone Circuit.

Grand Prix Ball organiser and GP Management CEO Jonny Dodge enthused: “We are really excited about seeing both Rebecca and Eddie perform on the night especially within such a jaw dropping venue set against the glamorous backdrop of The Hurlingham club and an amazing showcase F1 cars, which will make it a night not to forget.”
