German Grand Prix, Nurburgring Circuit Race - Result

It will be a race that every German Fan, British Fan, Spanish Fan, Indian Fan, Australian Fan and all others around the world will going to remember. The race that was a victory in itself for Mclaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Force India and Mercedes in itself.

The race provided glimpse of overtakings all with shear drivers talent without any aid of DRS with some ferocious battles and manoeuvers.

Though Lewis won the race, the thriller that could be at one stage looking in hands of Mark Webber, Red Bull and at another in hands of Fernando Alonso, Ferrari. But it was a race where everyone excel their racing limits to overpower their own competitors.

Lewis Hamilton and Mclaren above all, were a happy pit crew. After the poor practice sessions and a better qualifying - All the hardwork paid in favour of Mclaren as Lewis Hamilton get on the podium for his 16th Grand Prix victory and 2nd of the season. He is the only driver behind Sebastian Vettel to taste victory two times this season.

Lewis won a thriller between him, Alonso and Webber. Hamilton took the lead from Webber at the start lap but lost the lead after the first pitstop. Alonso keep a close watch on the two as he steadily keep pushing between them and at one moment was in a position to lead the race but could not get tyres on temperature to stay in front. Hamilton on the other hand charged past him for the race victory.

The top three drivers were in their own class as they lapped every other driver with only top six drivers on the lead lap. These three showed respect to their driving with Alonso was given a lift at the sidepod of Mark Webber car on the slow down lap to the podium.

Fernando Alonso hardwork paid off but as the cool temperature did not favour Ferrari and their Pirelli's, they could not managed to stay ahead of Mclaren but managed a 2nd spot on podium ahead of Mark Webber who for the first time this season lead the race for some laps.

Mclaren and Ferrari cut through the Red Bull dominance and a Red Bull could be seen only on the 3rd position and that too of Mark Webber.

World Champion and championship leader Sebastian Vettel had a bad day with only managed to secure the 4th position. His first non podium finish of the season out of the 10 races. But the homeboy certainly made crowd go loud on the final lap as the struggle for 4th position with equally brilliant driving by Felipe Massa come to an end with Vettel overtaking Massa in the pits as Ferrari lost it on the pitstop.

Felipe Massa was leading Sebastian Vettel for P4 from nearly half of the race and Vettel was equally fighting to get ahead. But he was not able to make a move until the final lap. They both had to serve their final pitstop which both entered the pitlane on final lap together. It was Ferrari boys who lost in front of the Red Bulls and homecrowd go loud for the world champion.

Force India was a happy crew after their star German driver Adrian Sutil finished the race in 6th position after holding that position for all the race with a perfect 2stop strategy.

Both the Mercedes driver followed Sutil for P7 and P8 with Rosberg finishing ahead of his teammate Schumacher. Schumacher really worked very hard to gain that position after an early spin on Lap 24 which saw him dropped to 12th position.

Sauber after struggling through whole weekend made a comeback in the race as Kobayashi who started in 18th position finished P9 ahead of Renault only driver Petrov.

Heidfeld had a major bumpy accident after being hit by Sebastian Buemi on the final corner while trying for a overtaking maneuver.

Jenson Button also had a sad ending in the Mclaren consecutively for second time this season. He had to retire from the race due to hydraulic problem and parked the car in the pit garage on Lap 36.

Sergio Perez in the second Sauber finished 11th ahead of Jaime Alguersuari in Toro Rosso.

Paul Di Resta finished 13th but did a good job after an first lap incident with Heidfeld that dropped him to the last position. Di Resta and Heidfeld contacted and spun their cars while trying to overtake on Lap 1. Di Resta made his way up the field steadily to finish 13th. He was as high as 10th at one moment.

Maldonado was the only Williams finisher in 14th position. Barrichello had to retire early due to an engine failure.

Sebastien Buemi after starting in the last position due to fuel irregularity finished 15th.

Kovalainen in the Team Lotus finished 16th ahead of the two Virgins.

Rookie Daniel Ricciardo was the sole HRT finisher in 19th ahead of Indian Driver Karun Chandhok who finished last in those who classified.
