Sauber Rookie Driver Sergio Perez will test a Ferrari Formula 1 car later this year, the Italian team have revealed. Perez, who is currently competing in his first Formula One season with the Sauber team, will take part in a head-to-head test with GP2 driver Jules Bianchi at Ferrari. Both driver are members of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and will drive the F2009 car at either Mugello or Fiorano in September. Head of the FDA Luca Baldisserri said the test would be used to assess the two drivers. “We will be back on track in September, at Mugello or Fiorano”, he told the Ferrari website. “It will be a very interesting test, because we will be putting Jules Bianchi and Sergio Perez up against one another. I think they will both be very motivated and for us it will be the perfect opportunity to assess both drivers.”
