Bahrain Gets More time to think for F1 Race

F1 cannot let go $40 million

In a Statement Released on Monday Night Bahrain has been given an extension to 3 June to decide whether the country's postponed Formula One race can be rescheduled this year.

The Bahrain Grand Prix was originally scheduled for March 13 but abandoned in the wake of anti-government protests in February and the ensuing crackdown which claimed a number of lives.

That will be likely construed as the FIA caving in to pressure from Bernie Ecclestone, F1’s chief executive, who said last week that he wanted to see the deadline extended to give Bahrain’s rulers more time to quell civil unrest in the kingdom. The race is worth $40 million to Formula One’s coffers
