Chinese Grand Prix is the third race of Formula One Season 2011 going to be held from 15 to 17 April at Shanghai International Circuit. This Circuit is going to host its eighth race since 2004.

After wonderful performance, sebastian Vettel who is looking strong contender will try harder to make the season Hat-trick. But last year result backs the ever improving Mclaren Duo - Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton .

Pirelli have said that they are pleased with the tests carried out for their wet and intermediate compounds. McLaren and Red Bull are the front-runners when it comes to strategy and Shanghai will provide them ample opportunity to put their grey cells in overdrive.

Come rain or not, the SIC’s combination of narrowing turns and straight lines with rising and falling gradients will offer drivers opportunities to overtake which is certain to add to the excitement of the event. KERS and DRS are bound to play their part after showing what the mix use of KERS and DRS could do in Malaysia. It is to be noted that DRS will be deactivated in case of wet conditions.

Circuit Analysis

Shanghai International Circuit is designed by german Engineer Hermann Tilke.

The Shanghai International Circuit is located about 30km outside the city of Shanghai, the most notorious of Chinese cities, once known as the Paris of the East, but now calls itself the Pearl of the Orient.

The Shanghai International Circuit is the most spectacular, ultra-modern F1 track, designed as the race circuit of the new millennium, with its stunning architecture.

The trickiest aspects of the track are the two snail-shaped twists at Turns 1-2-3 and 11-12-13. They require a lot of speed while entering and tighten up towards the end.

The track lacks in atmosphere and is hard on tyres. Pirelli’s slicks will be thoroughly drilled here and a minimum of three stops in guaranteed.

The first word that comes to mind when asked to describe the conditions at the Shanghai International Circuit is “Rain.” Ever since the race moved from the end of the season to the beginning, the Chinese GP has produced enthralling races with lots of drama thanks to the wet conditions and tyre strategy will be the utmost priority on drawing board.

Weather Report

Next few days, Shanghai will get away with some decent dry weather - although temperatures will be much cooler. Thursday will be much better with an ambient of around 25 degrees, but already clouds will have rolled in, heralding a change for the weekend.

Friday: Mostly Cloudy with Showers 23 °C max.

Saturday: Showers 16 °C max.

Sunday: Rain Expected (Thunders and Storm) 20 °C max.

Early predictions are for the low to move in over Shanghai, bringing in some showers on Friday. An overcast day with more prolonged rainfall is expected on Saturday.

Prediction

Once again Rain is predicted. So, predictions become even more difficult.

But still Red Bull and Mclarens are the top contender for the race. With Mclaren closing in on Red Bulls, with the last year result, it can be Mclaren who will taste the victory this time.

Equally important are the Renault and Ferrari duo's as they try to improve their results in china.

The question arises what will Mercedes do this time around.

Talking about the rain mastero, we have with us Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso or The 7 Time World Champion Michael Schumacher who could turn the table.

Finally, the scenario may see the dominance of Red Bull ending in the hands of Mclarens'.

Mercedes getting back there rhythm to win.
