10 mins Before the race start:
"Black clouds approaching the race track. 10kms away from the circuit. It will be great storm in Malaysia." There will be 30min in race and chance of rain.
(DRS is disabled for first two laps. Then only after 2laps it will be enabled and drivers can use DRS from Turn 15 to Turn 1 according to the DRS area)
Formation Lap:
Almost all are on soft compound tyres (option tyres)
Lap 1:
Great Start for Vettel, Heidfeld moved to 2nd. Michael Schumacher on 8th. Heidfeld superb run to 2nd position, forced hamilton out of the track. Webber down to 9th and then dropped to 10th position.
Petrov and Heidfeld had a massive start with Petrov almost in 3rd position on turn 1 behind Heidfeld.
Lap 2:
Nico Struggling ahead of Paul Di Resta. KERS not working correctly for Mark Webber.
Lap 3:
Lewis Hamilton on 3rd. DRS Enabled. Collision caused Force India Adrian Sutil to lost the front wing.
Lap 4:
Rubens in pits after no left front tyre on car. Dropped to 24th on track.
Lap 6:
Rain in 5 to 10 mins.
Lap 7:
DRS use was seen as Kobayashi past Webber again.
Lap 8:
Kobayashi and Webber are fighting for position on track. DRS use was seen by both where Kobayashi have a KERS advantage also. But Mark Webber has problem with the KERS system which is not working on his car.
Lap 9:
Pastor Maldonado is out as some part of the Rear wing was seen flying off the car.
Lap 11:
Mark Webber in pits, dropped to P17. First of the front runner to pit.
Lap 12:
Use of KERS along with DRS is the basic strategy seen by the drivers. These rule changes are really making their mark as drivers are getting used to it with lot of overtaking is seen all around the track.
Lap 13:
Vibration coming out of the Sebastian Vettel car as Pirelli are degrading faster. Lewis Hamilton in pits, come out in 10th position. Drivers are waiting for rain and therefore trying to preserve the tyres.
Lap 14:
Most of the drivers are in pits. Rain is still away from the track. Only few drops are being seen on the camera. All are back with soft slick tyres. A change in field also. As Mark Webber lap fastest 1min 44sec.(Lap 13)
Lap 15:
Michael Schumacher in pits. Alonso in pits also. Slick tyres again. 16th position for Michael.
Lap 16:
No rain coming, all in slick tyres for now. This is because, if the rain come in few min, then all will be changing tyres, so why to use prime tyres that last for more laps but are slower.
Lap 17:
Sebastien Buemi was involved with speeding in the pits. Stewards are currently reviewing.
As the gamble fails, No rain. Those who stayed on track for long, are the one that lost much of the momentum, as tyres losses their grip fast. Nick Heidfeld is the biggest loser with Fernando Alonso gains the most on track position.
Lap 19:
10 sec stop and go penalty for Sebastien Buemi. Fastest Lap by Lewis Hamilton (Lap 18): 1min 43.388sec.
Lap 20:
Fernando Alonso puts the fastest lap (Lap 19) with 1min 42.602sec.
Lap 21:
Peice of Aerodynamics coming out of Petrov Car.
Lap 23:
Mark Webber is again the first to pit. Nick heidfeld tyres are also getting warm.
Lap 24:
Jenson Button in pits. Dropped to 7th position. Most of the front runners are gambling on three stop strategy.
Lap 25: Hamilton in pits. Hard Tyres. Change of strategy for him. He is locked up on 6th behind Petrov. Webber ahead of Michael Schumacher.
Yellow flag on lap. Sergio Perez is out at back of pit lane.
Lap 26:
Adrian Sutil in pits for Force India. Sebastian Vettel on 4th after his second pit. Only 2.7sec pit stop, very fast and optimized pit stop. Petrov is 6th behind Hamilton. Vettel hammering behind Massa.
Lap 27:
Vettel ahead of Massa again. Heidfeld in pits.
Lap 28:
Massa in pits. Petrov is also in pits.
Lap 29:
Schumacher beaten by Kobayashi as DRS make the mark again. Alonso complaint of DRS not working.
Lap 30:
Sebastian Vettel advised to not to use the KERS. Button was told to catch Vettel.
Lap 33:
Webber in pits. 3rd pit stop by Webber. Dropped to 7th. Used Harder tyres. Petrov on 8th.
Sutil, Buemi, Alguersuari in pits.
Lap 34:
Fastest Lap (Lap 33) by Sebastian Vettel: 1min 41:339sec.
Lap 35:
Jarno Trulli is out. Adrian Sutil overtakes Alguersuari.
Lap 37:
Mark Webber set the fastest lap (Lap 36) 1min 41:423sec. Kobayashi is pits. Wing adjustment for him, harder tyres on. There is a hic up by drivers on the heat up lap, as tyres are not functional and slow in progress as drivers come out of pits.
Lap 38:
Lewis Hamilton in pits again after running the car on harder tyres. Come out on 6th position.
Lap 39:
Di Resta in pits. Michael is back on 10th position after pits of Kobayashi and Di Resta. Button is in pits also. Dropped to 4th. Button comes ahead of Hamilton after a slower pit stop by Hamilton earlier. There were some problem, with the hamilton car during pits.
Lap 40:
Paul Di Resta taken away the 11th position from Rosberg with DRS.
Lap 41:
Fastest Lap (Lap 40) by Jenson Button 1min 41:388sec
Lap 42:
Race Leader in Pits. Vettel out with hard tyre. 3.4sec pit stop. Alonso also in pits. Alonso comees out at 5th. Vettel hold the lead. Now all the way to podium for the top 5.
Lap 43:
Michael Schumacher on grass. Schumi in pits at 11th position.
Lap 44:
Webber in pits. 8th position now.
Lap 45:
Alonso use DRS to get pass through Hamilton. Hamilton Alonso fighting for position.
Yellow flag on track. Jerome d'Ambrosio is out of track.
Lap 46:
Rear wing not working for Alonso. Now Alonso will try to get past Hamilton the old ways.
Contact Between Alonso and Hamilton. Alonso damaged his Front Wing. Hamilton car did not get damaged as seen.
Lap 47:
Alonso in pits. Come back out on 7th position. Lost the chance of podium position.
Lap 48:
Vettel leads the pack as Webber try to catch Massa.
Lap 49:
Petrov pass Kobayashi. Webber use DRS but cannot overtake Massa.
Lap 50:
Webber get past Massa for 5th position. Massa put a strong competition to hold the position. Due to contact with Alonso, Hamilton is also dropping in pace.
Lap 52:
Hamilton was passed by Heidfeld easily as only 5laps remain. Hamilton dropped to 5th after running wide. Webber up in 4th position. Hamilton lost 2positions in succession.
Lap 53:
Hamilton in pits. Now on 8th position. Petrov in 7th with Alonso in 6th. Heidfeld tyres are 4 laps older than Webber. Webber will try to pass Heidfeld to get up to the podium.
Lap 54:
Petrov out of Race. Shaking his head. Petrov first run wide out of track, then jump onto the corner bump and to the surprise, Petrov steering wheel come out of the car into the hand. The car stopped after hitting the speed barrier.
Lap 55:
Webber just behind Heidfeld fighting for 3rd place as 2laps remain. Heidfeld locks the tyre, smoke comes out of the tyre.
Lap 56: Final Lap
Battle for 3rd place continues. Sebastien Buemi get out of the way of Heidfeld and Webber as he is overlapped. Webber overshoot the apex. Lost the battle for 3rd place.
Sebastian Vettel wins the race in style. Weaves the car at finishing line.
Massa was just ahead of Alonso. Massa car come to halt after the race is complete on slowing lap, may be due to fuel.
Final positions are: Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Nick Heidfeld, Mark Webber, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Kamui Kobayashi, Michael Schumacher and Paul Di Resta completes the top 10. Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg, Sebastien Buemi, Jaime Alguersuari, Heikki Kovalainen and Timo Glock are the other finisher with Vitaly Petrov was also considered classified behind Timo Glock.
