LEWIS HAMILTON has ended his year-long search for a new manager by joining the sports and showbiz mogul who looks after David Beckham's interests.

The 2008 world champ was managed by dad Anthony until shocking the Formula One world with a high-profile split in March last year.

Now the 26-year-old ace has signed for Simon Fuller's new company, XIX Entertainment.

As well as Becks, the firm also manages tennis star Andy Murray, Sir Michael Caine and Fuller's long-time pals The Spice Girls.

Hamilton blamed "outside intrusions" in his personal life for his relatively disappointing season last year.
And he has prioritized heading into 2011 with a solid and stable foundation.

He said: "It was important I took my time to make this decision as it had to be right for my career and my long-term future.

"I spoke to many interested companies in recent months but I felt Simon Fuller along with his team not only wanted to help me become an even better racing driver, but also shared my ambitions for the longer term."

Fuller said he had met Lewis and his father several times in the past and had "kept an eye on his career closely over the years".

He added: "Like any British fan I watched with pride and admiration at his achievements, incredibly winning the world championship at such a young age.

"Lewis is not only one of the leading sportsmen of his generation, he will, I believe, become one of the best of all time."

Anthony Hamilton called the tie-up "great news for Lewis and for Simon".

Hamilton Senior added: "Lewis has wisely taken his time to find a good person to look after him.
"I met Simon a couple of years back and he was then at the top of my list as my potential replacement.
"I'm happy to see that, two years on, Lewis has come to his own opinion about Simon and made his own decision."
