The 2009 champion title holder Jenson Button has described Australia's Mt Panorama as "one of the greatest tracks in the world" as he prepares to blast around the famous circuit.
The Briton is preparing for the start of the new F1 season in Melbourne this month, revealed his love of Australian V8 Supercars and his life-long desire to drive at Mt Panorama.
"It's one of the classic races," he told the Sydney Daily Telegraph of the Bathurst 1000.
"And one of the greatest racetracks in the world. Bathurst is something you never really avoid, especially when you're growing up learning about motorsport.
"When I was younger, the BBC would always broadcast the Bathurst race, and it was one of those things you'd just switch over and catch, and just be hooked, because the circuit just looked so intense.
"I couldn't believe the cars were hitting such high speeds driving between concrete walls. I know that Mt Panorama has a special place in Australian motorsport."
The Bathurst 1000 is a 1,000-kilometre (620 miles) touring car race held annually at Mt Panorama, in New South Wales state.
It is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Australian motorsport.
Button will drive a world championship-winning McLaren F1 car around the track next Tuesday, 22March, the report said.
