Youngest Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel has quadrupled his salary to extend his contract with Red Bull until 2014.
Red Bull has also signed up other important team members, including Adrian Newey, the designer of the car, which also made them world constructors' champions.
Vettel was on a low salary with high bonuses, but his status is such that he has jumped from a basic of about £2 million to £8 million and will retain his options for rich rewards on points and titles, the Daily Express reports.
"Sebastian had a contract for a while longer but we both felt the future should be addressed and he reached agreement quite quickly, as he is comfortable with the team having been with Red Bull in the juniors," said team principal Christian Horner.
"McLaren and Ferrari have demonstrated interest in him, but they have long-term drivers at the moment. Any team with serious ambitions would want Seb. It is very unusual and refreshing in this day and age that he does his own negotiations - but he does his own thing, he is his own man," he said.
Newey has also been secured until 2015 and Horner said: "Hopefully Red Bull will be the last team he works for in Formula One."
