Singapore Telecommunications (SINGTEL) will continue to be the title sponsor for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix in Singapore for another two years.

SingTel announced on Tuesday that it has renewed its partnership with Formula One for both 2011 and 2012.

SingTel Group CEO, Chua Sock Koong, said there will also be several 'firsts' this year.

Among them is the introduction of a multi-platform viewing experience.

Available across three ESPN Star Sports platforms and exclusive to SingTel, Formula One fans will be able to catch the race action anywhere - whether it is "live" on mio TV, online, or with their mobile devices.

In addition, this is the first year Formula 1 will be shown in true HD.

Mr Chua Sock Koong, SingTel's Group chief executive, said: 'We are proud to be continuing as the title sponsor of the Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. Just a few years ago, no one would have thought that having Formula One in Singapore would have been possible (the first race being in 2008). When Singapore hosted its inaugural race and the world's first Formula One night race three years ago, we created our own race record and amazed the world.'

The Singapore Grand Prix will be held from Sept 23 to 25. For the first time, mio TV will broadcast 'live' the entire Formula One season from the Australian Grand Prix on March 27 - through to the last race in Brazil in November.

The announcement was welcomed by Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
